Luján Statement on Russian Invasion of Ukraine

U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement on the Russian invasion of Ukraine:

"With the world watching, Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected diplomacy and launched an unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine. This violent action is not only an attack on Ukraine, but also an assault on the principles of democracy and a threat to global security.

"My prayers are with the people of Ukraine who awoke to the sounds of war in their country and in their homes. The United States and our Allies must stand united in support of Ukraine and hold Russia accountable for this invasion. As such, I will work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to ensure that Ukraine has the necessary aid to ensure their safety and security."
